Wiki Seminar Session II Welcome to the second part of the wiki seminar.

In this seminar (about 3 hours) I hope we can review what we learned in part I and work collaboratively together (in pairs or in groups of three) and practice sharing a wiki, editing or suggesting each other for content and working in a student/teacher relationships.

Open your old wikispace account
Review quickly functions (Valeria will guide you through this quick review)
A bit of review on how to add a video
Build a joined wiki
One of you in the small group sets up a wiki according to the assigned name and direction sheet
The person who creates the wiki invites others in the group to join the wiki
Once the invitee has joined the organizer of the wiki makes the partner an organizer
Then you begin to build your wiki assigned pages
Collaborate
Share your wikis – present what you have done
Break
Ask someone to be your student
Students complete one activity according to the wiki instruction
Then go back to your wiki and as a teacher see what your students have done and provide feedback
Follow instructions for each task: 01_Intro: on this page you will welcome everyone to your 3-page shared wiki and will explain what the wiki is about. Write some text – if we have time you will place a Voki on it. 02_Vocab: on this page place at least 7-9 vocabulary words in your language. For each word find and place an image, add the caption to the image and under each image use one or two examples of sentences to use the word in context. 03_Practice: on this page add one or two practice activities students can do with the words in your Vocab page. You could add a video (embed or link). You could create an Audiopal for practice, or place a link to an activity you found on the internet. 04_Task: on this page you will create one short task that students visiting your wiki can complete based on the information on the previous pages. Give directions such as complete something and them e-mail me… or post something, or a questionnaire, etc.
